About St. John Au Gres
As a sister church of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) we are fellow guardians of the confessional legacy handed down to us since the time of the Reformation. This confessional legacy holds that the Bible is the actual Word of the Living God. We believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, incapable of error and free from error. God the Father in His grace and love for us, His creatures, has revealed His plan for mankind’s salvation through the Scriptures in His Son Jesus Christ.
Through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word in the Bible, and in Holy Baptism, we receive the Holy Spirit that gives us the gift of faith; faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior. As God’s people, we hold to this living faith in Christ that creates a desire to confess, to bear witness, to testify, to proclaim and to speak this faith that: Jesus Christ suffered, died on the Cross and was buried and on the third day rose again. In him we have forgiveness of sins, salvation and the promise of eternal life in the resurrection we will share with him.
This is our confession and this is what St. John Au Gres is all about, Jesus Christ our Lord.
