Worship:  What to Expect

At St. John, we use the Lutheran Service Book for all of our services. Our worship is liturgical, meaning we follow the historic order of worship that has been in use since at least the Second Century. If you have never experienced the Liturgy, we invite you to come and observe. The Liturgy is made up of God’s Word and calls us to integrate our mouth, bodies, and heart; at times it’s joyful, at times it’s expectant, at times somber.

Communion practice: On the basis of God’s Holy Word, St. John Lutheran Church practices the Biblical and confessional practice of closed communion as an opportunity to give joyful witness to our unity in the Christian faith.  Guests joining us and holding membership in one of our sister LCMS congregations are invited to join in the reception of this great gift.  When visiting, please take time to introduce yourself to Pastor McNeil or an elder before the Divine Service.
